Private Instruction in Voice

Keegan offers private instruction in voice for students age 12 and up (some younger students may be considered on a case-by-case basis). 30-minute lessons are $20 and 50-minute lessons are $40. 
Students who take private instruction in voice can expect to complete the following in their lessons:

• Vocal warm-ups and exercises that focus on agility, healthy phonation, and range development
• Introduction to basic music theory concepts including rhythms and note names
•  Musical vocabulary that enhances a singer's performance
• Development of character and story through song

While students will be permitted to perform songs from their preferred genres, students will also be exposed to and expected to sing genres outside of their typical "favorites" including art songs, folk songs, and musical theater songs. An exposure and experience with a wide variety of musical literature helps develop a strong and versatile singer.
